Pepper cultivation on a substrate consisting of soil, natural zeolite, and olive mill waste sludge: changes in soil properties

چکیده
The distribution of olive mill waste (OMW) in soil under specific conditions and restrictions seems to be an advantageous choice considering that it is a low-cost method recycles nutrients returns organic carbon the soil. In addition, regarded as practice contributes climate change mitigation. aim this research was investigate potential natural zeolite clinoptilolite additive for using OMW sludge vegetable cultivation eliminating risk underground water degradation. For purpose, pot experiment conducted greenhouse which pepper seedlings were transplanted grown onto different substrates containing combinations 0%, 2.5%, 5.0% (v/v). plants irrigated twice week, while leachates collected on weekly basis testing. results indicate use improved properties. Moreover, substrate did not cause any significant variations process although led increase exchangeable Na at phytotoxic levels. However, determined consisting 2.5% produced best terms leachate are considered useful effectively treating when combined with additives enhances physicochemical characteristics without leading major irreversible negative consequences.

Effect of olive-mill waste addition to soil on sorption, persistence, and mobility of herbicides used in Mediterranean olive groves.
Laboratory and field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of olive-mill waste (OMW) addition to a Mediterranean olive grove soil on sorption, persistence, and mobility of two herbicides which are simultaneously applied for weed control in olive groves: terbuthylazine (TA) and fluometuron (FM). Laboratory batch sorption experiments showed that OMW addition to the soil at rates of 5 ...
متن کاملPotential of olive mill wastes for soil C sequestration.
The present work deals with the potential of olive mill wastes as a C source for soil C sequestration strategy, which is based on the high lignocellulosic content that makes these wastes to degrade slowly during composting and after land application. A C balance was performed during the whole life cycle of two different two-phase olive mill wastes (TPOMW): C losses were calculated during the co...
متن کاملMicrocolony cultivation on a soil substrate membrane system selects for previously uncultured soil bacteria.
Traditional microbiological methods of cultivation recover less than 1% of the total bacterial species, and the culturable portion of bacteria is not representative of the total phylogenetic diversity. Classical cultivation strategies are now known to supply excessive nutrients to a system and therefore select for fast-growing bacteria that are capable of colony or biofilm formation. New approa...

The effect of 10-year continuous saffron cultivation on physical and chemical properties of a silty clay loam soil was investigated in a research farm of College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz (52 º 33ʹ E Longitude and 29º 36ʹ N latitude), Iran. This farm was irrigated with different regimes (100% of saffron's potential evapotranspiration (ETp), 75%ETp, 50%ETp) including rain fed tre...
